Horrible Customer Service - MSN Outlook Techical Support

-I contacted the MSN Outlook Technical Support at 1-80*-987-**** on August 2, 2017 to ask for assistance with my email backup. I had to call this number three times and each time I received the same neglect and horrible service. The first call the operator picked up but did not speak for 2 minutes while him and his co-workers laughed and conversed in the background. Once he finally gave his greeting he spoke very softly and on top of his East Indian accent it was very difficult to understand him. Before I could tell him my issue he immediately asked what system am I using and then put me on hold for 10 minutes with no expected hold time. I hung up and called again- the same thing happened except the person never greeted me on the phone until I said excuse me are you there, and he stated yes I am. I asked was he working or on break because it had been 5 minutes with laughter in the background with no regard to me on the phone. He disconnected the call. The third time I called back there was a delay but he greeted within a minute or so, I asked him could he assist me with email back up and he said NO and hung up the phone. I was very irritated because the website states they assist with email backup. I am so frustrated to receive they type of service taking into consideration all of the outlook products I purchase as well as my employer, and my husbands self employment using Outlook as their main communication tool. I have worked in customer service and this is not how you treat your consumer- like trash. Unfortunately, I need Outlook but I will not spend my hard earned money on any of your purchases and I will make sure I tell my friends, family, and employer about this experience. I have a lot of influence on their purchases and if it is up to me you will not get another dime.

Please upgrade Microsoft before you upgrade office

Good Job Microsoft for asking everyone to upgrade office 2007 but what did you upgrade before you got the right to ask that to the customers . No matter which version of outlook you use and whats your internet speed is , it takes almost 10+ hrs to download 30000+ emails which is same as office 2007 and its waste of our time . . You can call it an upgrade if it is not only an improvement in the UI but also an improvement in the performance . So you want us to upgrade to latest software but at the same time, you don't want to upgrade yourself ???

Lousy

I recently purchased for $145 Microsoft's "Unlimited" support plan for a year. One of my computers needed to have Word 10 uploaded after my computer was corrupted. The upload appeared successful until my computer rebooted the following day, at which time it stated the program was not uploaded properly. Calling Microsoft support with the same case number, I've been told for the past 3 days that the Level 2 technician who worked the case would return my call within the next 2 hours. I've wasted now nearly 3 frustrating days waiting for the call, needing my computer, not wanting to miss the call. During that time I've been repeatedly told by the Microsoft answering line that the call would come and "thank you for patiently waiting." So far, there's no call, no fix, and (I'm told) no way to talk with a supervisor about the lack of response.

Wonderful

I mistakenly went thru Break Logic and they ripped me of for $350.00. Keep in mind I used them before and I thought they fixed the problem but they actually didn't although I thought they did. So I went back to them because I purchased a service contract with them so when I was having more problems I of course called Break Logic. That's when I was told my service contract didn't cover this problem and had to pay $350.00 more. I feel like such an *** now and I so wished I had gone to Microsoft. First, the staff I worked with were fantastic. I can't thank them enough for helping me with a multitude of problems that were created after dealing with Break Logic. What ever you decide to do don't make the mistake I did and call Microsoft and deal with people who know what they are doing!

Fix the ads

Recently, ads don't seem to load, so you're stuck with a white page and can't play any games. I suspect this is an attempt to get people to pay for the game. Well, I'm not an addict, and, since I play to relax and I can't relax if I have no idea if the next game will load or I'll be stuck with a white screen, my solution will be to stop playing. See what that does to Microsoft greed and how many advertisers will leave. This has been happening since their most recent update to Windows 10. This also moved my photos around and made my printer stopped working (which, miraculously, they fixed about a week later). This is an insane way to do business.

When playing Microsoft daily solitaire challenges, ads pop up from Microsoft for a silly slot game which I want no part of and the ad won't go away unless you restart the computer. There is no way out otherwise. Really????

#1354193

"update to premium" ad goes white and the game cannot be played. I won't pay for it, so I guess Microsoft will lose another customer.

WHY HASN'T MICROSOFT FIXED THE EXPLORER 'NEW FOLDER' ISSUE IN WINDOWS 10?

After the anniversary 'creative' update, I can no longer organize my documents using Office 2016 Pro + because I cannot add folders or rename a folder. The process hangs up and I have to sometimes reboot (even Task Manager won't stop the process) to get the screens out of the way to go on to other things. It's been an issue now for several months. I see no real information about this issue except for win7 and 8. This is a stand alone computer on a network, but there is no file sharing with the network, only the router and modem. I've inquired of Windows Secrets group with no response. I've inquired at other forums with no response that works. I'm not a computer guru. The software owner Microsoft should fix this or tell why they can't so we can move on to other machines or OSs. Microsoft is leaving it up to their Insider program to have people fix problems which they themselves should be solving immediately, but it seems everyone is left to their own devises--despicable! And highly unethical.

Looks like a permission issue. Check the permissions for the desktop folder.

In Windows Explorer right click on the desktop folder, select properties and there go to the security tab.

You should have write permission for that folder. You might also try searching online for a solution as you are probably not alone with this problem.

#1346083
@Machele Imf

Yes, I have write permission. Interestingly, no post on the Internet which I found, indicated a need for permission--Nor did the technicians at Microsoft. I suppose there's a reason for putting this somewhere (I have no idea why.) I'm not a computer guru--don't want to be--just need a computer that works the way I use it; CPM line commands were much simpler back in the 1980s along with some of the MS-DOS and PC-DOS commands and even the .DB II ...one wonders how Win10 ended up so obtuse and difficult to use?

#1346052

I was finally able to contact and use Microsoft technicians who took remote control of my system to fix the issue. It seemed they did...then it wasn't fixed.

They did a second remote fix...and said I'd need to download windows 10 ISO and reinstall as my Win10 was corrupted.

I did that; download and tried to install the ISO file...and the ISO would not install.

I dealt with the issue which now seemed intermittent; could add a folder sometimes, other times not; could rename a folder sometimes, sometimes not.

Right now everything is working as it should--I have no idea what went on to right what was wrong.

WINDOWS Forced Updates

WHY does every single update for windows screw up both my laptops??? Does Microsoft NOT test these things at all??? I had FIVE of them mess up one laptop last year. The final one, about a week before Christmas, took out my keyboard and I could not fix that. Thank goodness for IT friends! I called their so-called help center half-way 'round the world and got some *** that could not speak English...PLUS the first thing out of his mouth was that I would have to PAY this company to fix its OWN ****-ups! Can you BELIEVE that??? Never mind my response to him. I turned OFF the damned things on one laptop. Two months later, my Thunderbird account had been deleted and the machine would barely run. I had to run a complete refresh and reload all my other apps. A week later today ,I am doing the SAME damned thing on this laptop! The laptop I am typing this complaint on is running slower than ever after the update today that took TWO HOURS TO LOAD and I may have to totally refresh it. I've seen all the news articles and Forbes' articles. Why is NO ONE holding Microsoft accountable for all this damage??? I am filing a complaint against Microsoft with the FCC and the FTC urging THEM to hold this company liable for all this mess and to make Microsoft cease & desist with these FORCED downloads until they can manage to get ALL the bugs out & at least Beta test the *** things first. This has gotten way past the point of ridiculous! WHO is with me here???

Microsoft unautorized charges

I had a Microsoft tablet. The battery quite working while it was still under warranty. I contacted Microsoft about the problem and they sent me an exchange computer and I returned the problem one as it was a FREE warranty exchange . They charged me $339 for the replacement which was not authorized.I accidentally paid the credit card bill with the $339. I went to Elan about it. They temporarily suspended the charge. Microsoft sent them some policy that was not relevant. Elan paid to Microsoft the $339. When I tried to contact Elan, they were very snotty about the thing. They said that it was required that supervisors were required to respond within 48 hours. I started to get calls from an unidentified number and when I answered they would hang up. If I did not answer they would a message that was basically "TOO BAD" we are not going to help you. I went through this several times, calling them, explaining to them that this was a fraudulent and unauthorized charge. Same thing with the return phone calls. Answer the phone and they hang up. When you don't answer they leave a "Too Bad" message. I wanted to be sure that this was what was going on. Remember they are required to return your call within 48 hours. SO, I kept that phone with me. I had those unidentified calls and when I answered, they would hang up. So since I answered every call, they never left a message. On one occasion when I told them that it was a fraudulent charge, The woman just said that she would send new cards. Nothing about we will refund your money. When I called the last time their excuse was it is too late. We can't help you any more. This had been going on for 6 months. I tried to get help from my Fidelity representative but he claimed to be unable to help me. He would not even get me to the people at Fidelity who interface with Elan management. I spoke to the Fidelity office manager over a month ago, but have not heard anything back. I have been screwed by Elan, and Microsoft and am very dissapointed in Fidelity. I am wondering how Fidelity could even consider using a company like this one as their credit card provider. Certainly I would not consider ever using this card or giving them another dime of money. I'll take %1.5 any day with good customer service than a corrupt corporation.

Microsoft 365 subscription/auto pay

I purchased a notebook last year with a free year of Microsoft 365. The past two weeks it has been wonky with the word program telling me to get auto pay, then as I was working on my midterm final last week, it stopped. I went on word several times and was unable to use it unless I set up auto pay. My subscription isn't over until October 2017!!! I called support and was told I would have to pay 79 dollars to fix the issue with my computer!! There is no issue! Spent an hour on the phone with support so they could verify that my subscription wasn't up. I also received an email the day Office 365 stopped working about auto pay. My notebook has no other issues. I use Google docs now. I had no issues with Microsoft in the past, until now.

Horrible Microsoft Customer Care

I have been a longtime Windows customer for 8 years and I have decided to switch to Apple recently. Here's why: I had experienced a problem with my Windows tablet so I decided to call Microsoft customer care at 800-642-**** and asked for the Windows department. "Chris" from Manila, Philippines told me that I needed to call Windows Phone Support to repair my tablet. I didn't understand why I needed to call support for a Windows Phone if I'm facing problems with my tablet and said the Windows Phone team would help me because it was "in the same category", as he put it. He gave me an 866 number and I called it and another call center agent in the Philippines who said he was "David Brown" answered the phone, said "Windows Support" and started talking to me about a gift card! He said I had suddenly won a $5,000 gift card and this was the "Windows Activation Center". I asked for the supervisor. He said "No, no, no. You will not speak to my supervisor until we finish the activation. Then I transfer you. That's how it goes." I said "Excuse me?" and said "This is a scam call center, not Windows Phone!" and he muttered something and ended the call. Finally got my tablet fixed, but I'm switching my other Windows products to Apple. Never dealing with Windows tablet support again!
