Microsoft scam game

Where to start, well I have now call 1-800-4MY-XBOX hot line about 9 times now. And I have been through 10 Xbox 360's. The first four I pretty much cut my losses and bought a new one. Then I heard that Microsoft was extending the warranty for the Red Ring of Death and another hardware error. At first I was really happy, here I had a brand new 5 month old 360 die on me, so I sent it in. Mind you the system was made in 2007 which was the year I bought it. So I called and set things up for it to be repaired. Well, after a few weeks I got my system back. With a 1 month live card for my troubles. (retail value $7.99) Imagine my surprise when I checked the date and seen it was made in 2006. Not only that, it was also a refurb. which lasted me 3 months this time. I sent that one, again, I got back yet another refurb. back. Again it was not the one I sent, and while it was for 2007 this time, it yet again lasted a few months. To make this short, I have went through this process 6 times now. The last time it was a so called "Elite" that was made in 2009 not even 3 months old before it too died on me. Again I sent it in, again I got a different one back. The last few times I made a big deal of it, and was able to get them to send me a wireless controller for my troubles. This took place 3 times. All I can say is I love my Xbox, but if you wanna buy one, be ready to get the free game called Xbox to repair center soon after you start using your system. Just make a huge deal about it when you call, and insist that they do something more for you then send you a $7.99 1 month live card. Ask for more, and don't take no for an answer.

Microsoft Hotmail Blocked my Account because I complained.

I am unemployed and Microsoft Hotmail blocked my account and won't allow me to reset the password like they say because I complained about their colaboration with the Federal Government in freedom of speech areas. This is punishment for not shutting up. They say I need to reset my password and then it won't allow me by asking me "Secret Questions" I did'nt put in the mix. Now I've tried to many times with the wrong answer. It is going on two months and I can't access my E-mails to see if I've gotten job responses. "Bill of Rights" is a joke just like Obama and that will get the NSA computer security alert going. Syntheticnuke@***.com No answer from Hotmail crew quess they are forbidden to reply.

Cannot uninstall their program

i decided to see how good or bad my computer was connecting to the internet and the ad said microsoft certified, so i felt it to be safe. i downloaded the program and when it came to clicking run, it took me to another page to buy the program. i didnt want to buy it, so i decided to uninstall it. couldnt do it. would not uninstall. went to their web site and spoke to a person by instant messaging and he said he was going to email me the directions to uninstall it. just received my instructions. its about 3 pages long. wow. it installs several programs within it. it does not respond to the uninstall command in control panel. dont download this program.

These people at microsoft are evil ***. they said they could not help me as I had a "free email account". I sent my bank my new email account and other business's i deal with. now all of it is lost. Please do not open an account with hotmail or anything with microsoft. check rip off reports.com, there are over 390 complaints against microsoft on rip off report. I filed a complaint with the BBB, all I want to do is close this *** email address, and I can't do it because i can't log on to the account.

HotMail costs nothing, but you invest MUCH time and effort linking your ~free~ email to your life and business. Hotmail simply took away my ability to conduct business...I have to start ALL OVER...I will never use Microsoft products again....they made an enemy for life. DO NOT USE HOTMAIL!!!!

#306985

:( I have had hotmail and live.com for year's....then all of a sudden they "THINK" i have a mobile phone and limit me to 4 or 5 emails a day....that just sucks big time! I have told them I do NOT have a mobile phone and they provided a link to click and say I didn't...did that, but didn't do any good.

Then, too, every five minutes have to type those silly mixed up letters/numbers in the box and even if you KNOW they are typed CORRECTLY, they tell you that they AREN'T! Seriously DO NOT OPEN A HOTMAIL account and close yours out if you already haven't.

There are better email programs. I seriously believe the Microsoft and hotmail/live.com email programs are censoring my emails--*** snoops!!

I am smart enough, that is why I am posting all over the internet about this *** company. You are a major *** or you are working for microsoft. Anyone who defends a corrupt corporation is as *** as they come.

Did you forget your password? What was the error being given?

If a free mail account. How is it that the most simple of things most people have problems with?

Please take your PC/laptop out in to the street and destroy it. You are not smart enough to own or even operate one.

Microsoft took money for time unused

So It all begins with about 4-5 month back when I first selected to cancel my month-to-month payment of Live gold time. Seems simple enough, just select the cancel option under the account management and everything should be done with. Right Well exactly the month after I made the first cancellation I get a hit on my account, then another, and yet one more. Called to investigate this, and as it turns out you 'have' to cancel thew auto-billing on the website. No other way around it. Okay, I'll pass that one off on my own fault. So for an alternate reason I have to cancel the given card on file. Which helps with this problem as well, or so I thought. I turn on my console about 2-3 weeks ago and it tells me my account is suspended from online. 'What the ***?' I ask myself and call to fix the previously stated problem, again not all too offset by this. I check up my finances when I get paid like usual to find a $16 charge filed on my account from Microsoft. I'm curious at this point, As I was not told of any kind of balance or anything when I had previously called. So I get a hold of someone who, through the period of 15-20 minutes ends up feeding me the same two lines about how I was suppose to call 'before' when I did. As well as the fact that there was nothing that could be done about any kind of refund or consolation for the time I clearly did not use. At this point I am thoroughly pissed. Though I do not yell or anything at the person on the other end. They are quite likely just doing what the bigwigs up in the MS main office are telling them to. So I just end up telling her sorry I wasted both our time, and wish them a nice day. In closing, I am sure they have this information on the site somewhere. Though poorly marked and I am ultimately unsatisfied with how their service works and how they expect us to be practically psychic.

Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail

I loaded in Microsoft's Windows Live Hotmail on my girlfriend's pc on Apr. 3rd, 2010. She still cannot receive e-mails. Microsoft's Solution Center is a waste of time. They never return your question or solve the problem. Plus, you cannot talk to a live tech support. I've used Hotmail for a few years and love it. That's the reason I loaded it in on her pc. I just can't understand how so many people are having problems by the thousands, such as constantly being asked to verify your account, blocking your e-mail, etc. Just check out their Windows Live Hotmail Solution Center and you'll see what I mean. She's going to close out her account and go with another e-mail provider.

Microsoft Scam

I bought MS Streets and Trip 2009 and got a FREE offer for Microsoft Money in the package. I input all information on the online form and they asked for a credit card number. I did this and the form said and I quote" NOTE: you will not be billed." Thats ***! I was billed within 20 minutes of doing this to my bank account. Microsoft was not cooperative and gave the usual runaround. I was transfered to another department and there was no one conveniently there to help. Typical Microsoft and their fraudulent promos. BUYER BEWARE! Do not fall for this free offer. Its a scam.

Xbox red rings of death come on!!!!

How long has the xbox 360 been on the market, shouldn't have the red rings of death been fixed by now?? I bought a unit in may 2008, with a target 3 year protection plan. It made it to Oct 2009 without a problem. Problem #1: disc drive error, called target, they sent me a prepaid shipping label and I sent to their repair facility, it was repaired and returned within 1 week. Problem #2: Three days after that, I got the infamous red rings of death, called target, sent out again, they just returned saying only microsoft will fix. Obviously, this is a major defect, they have since extended their warranty for this specific issue to three years. I had to go onto their website, create a login, register the unit, request repair, print and label, and ship to them. They sent me an email confirming my request. No where through this process do they say how long to repair, or if they replace unit, or what they do. Will I get a permanant repair, temporary repair, new unit, referbished replacement unit, what, and when? With the money that they have made on all the consumers who scrapped broken units and bought new ones, and paid for the expensive equipment and games, my feeling is they should have recalled all of the units, fixed the design issue and sent out new, non-defective units. I hope this hurts them in the next wave of new video game consoles, my next will be the playstation 3. So I lose out on a few games, but I gain a bluray and a unit that actually works.

You people dissing video games are complete &*&holes, it's about the kids getting ripped off by gate's and co. They should be recalling these junk pieces of &*it. Yeah my kids play alot and by the way they are 14 and 11 with straight A's

perfect 4.0 gpa presidental awards for acedemic excellence its not the games it is the parents :( :(

so yeah mulch... big surprise you, "earns more in a month than you do in a day" I think you meant that you earn more in a day then the poster earns in a month?

lol.

You also spelled programmers and impossible incorrectly.... just sayin...

#80928

I am the person who runs 5 KM per day, spends 2 hours a day in a gym, has a gilfriend, speaks 3 languages, earns more in a month than you do in a day, am responsible for 18 programers and sys admins and has a life a *** of a lot better than you could imagine.

As to getting a hobby? If you hadn't figured it out by now this is my hobby. I used to come here to help people and do from time to time when a person has a real problem and not like yerself a made up one with impossiable demands and little hurt ego's.

Now go back to mommy and let the big people talk.

#80793

You know what target probably did??

Check the serial number of your unit. I bet they gave you an old 'refurbished' unit back. The newer units that have the Jasper boards do not cause the RROD.

So check the serial number and see if they actually gave back YOUR unit when they 'repaired' it.

#80701

Sam, a fat gamer says what? Its called an opinion.

You get yours, and others get theirs. If you support wasting your life by sitting in front of a tv watching the backside of an animated character walk around in a made up world, then go back into your moms basement and pretend to be a grownup.

I think you can TIVO the lost Star trek episodes, and have another hot pocket.

#80699

I agree with mulch. Get out of your mothers basement, and get a life. You "gamers" spend so many hours doing nothing. You waste your productivity and youth playing fantasy games. You are sad pathetic losers and the only way you can feel good is to vanquish some *** character in an online game.

Those of us in the real world are living real lives, and getting laid with real women. We do not need 3d anime hentai to get off alone.

The Japs couldnt defeat us in WWII, but they are beating us by addicting our young to video games, and making them ***. Their kids dont play, and make better grades. Looks like they are winning now.

#80695

Mulch- Who are you to say anything like that?? Are you just bitter that you havent got laid?? Go find another hobby other then belittleing people who want to make others away of problems they maybe be having!!!

#80598

Or you could get off your fat *** and go for a walk. Maybe read a book?

Maybe go out and get a life?

Who knows you might even find a girl and get laid? Ever thought of that?

XBOX 360

My XBOX 360 after less than 20 days in my possession has given me a error code E74. After research it some thing that deals with being over heated. As far as my concern I think that XBOX should be ashamed of them selves and offer a solution to the problem. I will never recommend there product to any one. I will not stand idly by either I will look to see if there is a class action lawsuit. And if they send there sales rep to the courts good then I will show precedence against them. Microsoft had not said any thing about this and are falsely reporting to their share holders the problem that is at hand.

Microsoft Office 2007: Too Bad / So Sad

This Agent, David, tells me he can fix the problem within 20-minutes, but he wastes that time trying so sell me stuff that I #1)Did not call for; #2)Do Not Want; and #3)will Have repeatedly refused his offers!!! ========================================================================= David [13:58]: Welcome to OmniTech Support for Microsoft. We will be offering you 20 minutes of free chat support for Microsoft Office products. We've been solving more than 50% of the issues during these free periods. If your particular issue is more complex and can't be fully resolved within the free 20 minutes, then we will have to charge you to resolve the issue in those cases. I am reviewing your issue now. Chris [13:58]: MS-Office 2007 Help Files are missing. "There is a problem with one or more installed help files. Please repair your Office installation and try again." I've run Repair, and this didn't fis the problem. I was then advised to uninstall & reinstall MS-Office, which I have done. I still get the same error when I try to access MS-Office Help Files. I have MS-Office 2007 installed on my Laptop from this same disk-set and I have NO PROBLEMS! David [13:58]: HI Chris. This is David. Chris [13:58]: Hi David. Can you help me with this problem? David [13:59]: Sure, I will be glad to assist you with this issue. Chris [13:59]: I've run Repair = No Help Files. I've Uninstalled/Reinstalled = Still No Office Help Files. David [13:59]: May I know are you facing this issue with all of the office application? Chris [14:00]: Yes. Same message for each Application on my Desktop. David [14:01]: Thank you for the information. [14:01]: To make best use of our time, the best way for me to fully diagnose your issue is to let me see the issue inside your computer. May I go ahead? Chris [14:02]: For my desktop, I first downloaded trial edition. Then I purchased Office'07, after I received CD's, I installed it on my laptop (which works fine). Yes, you may Go Ahead. David [14:02]: Thank you for allowing me to access your computer. [14:02]: In case we get disconnected while setting up remote access or during this chat session, what would be the best number to reach you instantly? Chris [14:03]: 913.205.8083; I am closing applications not needed for our purposes. David [14:03]: Okay. Are you using Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Chrome? Chris [14:04]: IE-8 David [14:04]: Please open a new Internet Explorer browser by Clicking on the Internet Explorer Icon. Chris [14:05]: Done David [14:05]: Please type www.fastsupport.com in the address bar of the Internet Explorer and press Enter key. Chris [14:05]: Do I need to disable my McAffee? David [14:06]: No, no need to disable the Mcaffee application. Chris [14:06]: OK [14:06]: What is my Name & 9 Digit Support Key? David [14:06]: Please enter your name and the Support key "000000000" and click on "Connect Now". [14:07]: Also please click on the "RUN" option when prompted. Chris [14:07]: I clicked on Launch Software button David [14:07]: That's fine.. Chris [14:08]: Almost ready... David [14:08]: Okay. Please click on "Yes" or "Allow" or "OK" to establish the remote connection Chris [14:09]: OK. I just approved Session. Can you Remote In now? David [14:09]: I am able to view your screen; could you please show me the exact issue that you are facing? Chris [14:09]: This is it. I'll move the conversation window... David [14:10]: May I know have you purchased the Office 2007 full version? Chris [14:11]: It acts like the Free Trial version Help Files and the Purchased Office 2007 Help files are in conflict. [14:11]: Yes. Purchased using my Discover Credit Card. Do you need that info? David [14:11]: Do you have the original office 2007 product key with you? Chris [14:12]: I have both disc Set. Prod Key: M8GB6-HMWQB-3F3C4-T2J9B-D6673 David [14:13]: Thank you for the information. [14:13]: let me have a check on the issue, please stay online. Chris [14:15]: OK. Strange, I had to find the P/K on my Laptop. I couldn't find it on my D/T. That's why I think that the trial version, that I later converted to the full version (when I bought it), is having a conflict with the Trial Version Help FIles and that conflict is brought to surface (or was brought to service) with a recent Service Pack Update. David [14:15]: Chris, please do not worry about the issue, I will surely fix it for you. [14:16]: Okay, let me have a check on this issue, please be online. Chris [14:16]: From the Control Panel, I cannot UNinstall the trial version. I simply cannot find it. You do not have to respond to each of IM's, I realize you are busy, but consider this more information relevant to the problem that I hope helps. David [14:17]: Thank you for the information. I will surely fix this issue for you, please give me a moment so that can have a check on the exact issue. [14:20]: Chris, please do not move your mouse cursor so that I can assist you better on this issue. Chris [14:20]: BTW - Today I replaced the CLVIEW EXE that was from 2007 with a version from my laptop that was as new as 200 David [14:25]: Thank you for waiting. [14:25]: I am currently working on your issue and I will surely fix it for you. [14:26]: I need to perform couple of advanced trouble shooting steps to fix this issue. [14:26]: Hence I would require around 20-30 minutes more to completely fix this issue.***[NOTE: HE SAID 20-30 MINUTES TO COMPLETELY FIX THIS ISSUE]*** [14:27]: While I'm doing that, I would like to tell you about our System Uptime Assurance Plans that we currently offer. [14:27]: By the way, if you choose one of our System Uptime Assurance Plans you can get this issue resolved for FREE no matter how long it takes. [14:27]: May I know when did you last optimize your computer? Chris [14:28]: David. Am I being charged for this service / sales experience David [14:28]: Please do not worry about the cost, however if you choose one of our System Uptime Assurance Plans you can get this issue resolved for FREE no matter how long it takes. [14:29]: Let me explain the benefits of our System Uptime Assurance Plans so that you come to know how it works. [14:29]: In fact our comprehensive uptime methodology offers protection in 3 different phases. [14:30]: If at any time, your computer is affected by viruses, malware, adware or spyware, you can get connected to our in-house certified technical experts instantly and avail our "UNLIMITED" troubleshooting sessions. Chris [14:30]: Obviously, you see from my logs the last time I optimized. I also use McAffee regularly, and use their Optimization (too). I also like to defrag/optimize via Windows regularly. David [14:31]: Chris let me inform you that the optimization process does not include only de-fragmentation process, our pre-emptive System Uptime Assurance process includes 15 globally accepted steps. Chris [14:31]: If it's going to be more than 10 minutes, do you mind if I go microwave a sandwich real quick? David [14:31]: This would optimize your computer's performance and greatly reduce the chances of crashing or files from being corrupted. [14:31]: It will take only 2 more minutes... [14:31]: I appreciate your patience. [14:31]: You'll get "UNLIMITED" technical and training sessions + 24 system optimization sessions worth $35 each + FREE Industry grade Antivirus/Firewall + 24/7 support for any computer related issues + back up facility. [14:31]: All this for only $299.99 for the year!! This is our most popular offer. Chris [14:31]: That's fine. I am diabetic, so I have to get some food in me. I'll be right back. David [14:32]: Sure, take your time. [14:35]: Please let me know once you are back, so that I can explain you the special offers that we provide to you, if you sign up for our service plan now. Chris [14:36]: I'm back. [14:37]: No offense, but I first want to resolve the issues that I have with the software that I have already paid from MS. David [14:39]: Okay, in that case you can just pay $34.95 for this session and get this issue resolved right away. [14:39]: In addition you would be getting a one time Optimization absolutely Free. Chris [14:40]: This session was advertised as FREE support. What's up with that? It said up to 45min, you told me it would take 20 minutes, and the clock is now at 42 minutes. David [14:40]: Chris, we provide the first 15 minutes as free and than have a minimal charge after it. Chris [14:40]: Am I fixed now? Your now nearly 20 minutes over what you originally stated. [14:41]: Still, that would be 13 minutes over what you stated. David [14:41]: I will surely fix you issue. Please feel assured. [14:42]: I appreciate your understanding that we have already offered 15 minutes of free support while troubleshooting this issue. ====================================================================== He went on to try to sell me something else. I again refused to buy anything and asked him to fix the problem as he promised, and he quickly replied that my FREE HELP TIME HAD RUN OUT and he disconnected the session! The problem is that I originally downloaded the TRIAL Version of MS-Office 2007 on my Desktop and they sent me the installation disks. From the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, I cannot select the Office-2007 Trial Version to remove from my Desktop PC,... the one that no longer has the Help Files. I installed MS-Office 2007 on my Laptop from the disks, which is legal to do, and I have not experienced any problems. I have surmised from this experience that neither MicroSoft nor it's Vendors care to support recent products. Rather, their Focus is set on New Sales (along with the commissions that accompany them). How fast can you say MAC?!! Bill Gates: Up your Nose with a Rubber Hose!!

I signed up for 1 year service from Omnitech

They crached my PC..

now nobody responds :cry

help

#106871

Dude, you do understand that you were not talking to Microsoft, right? You keep mentioning it was Omnitech, but keep *** about Microsoft.

Why would you file this as an MS issue. It would be the same thing as if you bitched about Dodge because "Ricky's Fast and Dirty Repair Shop" couldn't fix your headlight.

#67177

Hey Kathy &/or Tom:

The Rep was RAS'd into my PC (RAS=Remote Access Service). He was "driving" my PC, had control of the mouse, hard drive, everything, while we had a shared conversation window open (hence, the comments for this blog). He fumbled around my PC and was clearly focused on Closing A Sale (he didn't do anything productive on my PC other than looking at the software installed on my PC). If he's in Sales, then he has a Sales Quota to meet. Just like a New Car Salesman, if I'm not interested in buying ~ then he is going to try and get me off his Sales Lot so he can chat up a Sale with a Customer who is Buying what he's selling.

My comment, KU_Alumn on 22-07-2009 15:32, specifically provides the FIX that I implemented. I am a DB Programmer and Analyst. This experience was purely a test about MS-Tech Support. It failed miserably, and left me flabbergasted! :eek // :roll

#67163

Chris, it seems that you have not got the point that the rep was trying to explain you. I think you were more irate that he was going to charge.

I'm a satisfied 68 yr old with the service that I got from Omnitech when I contacted them with a problem in Word.

Ofcourse I had to pay for the service as mentioned on thier add. It was a good expirence to let the rep work on your computer and you don't have to do anything.

#67162

Even I had been to this chat. They hav fixed the issue which I couldn't get help from any one.

I used to work for a company with a lot of people from India. Hated to work with them.

No imigination, no ability to trouble shoot and no new ideas. The way your techie spoke he was 100% from India.

I haven't installed MS office since Office 97.

Found Openoffice and haven't used anything since. I understand it's too late for you but don't waste yer money on ***.

Thanks for the Commente GMANNV, but your advice is 2 years too late (I bought MS Office 2007 in August 2007). The problem occurred when I installed all the Add-In Programs that came with Disc#2 of the MS-Office Set and the result was that it Defaulted ALL of my Windows Help Files to MS-Publisher.

The frustration lies with MS not supporting their Software, their Reps speak English as a 2nd Language, and their Reps are only motivated to sell you something else. Still, I hope my experience helps someone else.

Okay. I've calmed down & decided to fix the problem myself when I noticed this morning that the Vista Help Files were also giving the same error message. I tried to copy my WinHlp32.exe from my Laptop to my Desktop: Error message telling me that I didn't have rights to delete/change the file. So, from Windows Explorer, I right clicked on the file, chose Properties, Security, Advanced-BUTTON, then Owner TAB, highlighted my User Name from the list of available users {change owner to List}, and clicked OK throughout to get me back to the original file. Then Rebooted and my problem was solved. If you have the same problem and follow the steps outlined above only to find you don't have a recognizable user ID to select, you can create one using the EDIT button at the bottom.

Anyway, after rebooting my PC, I have ALL of my Help Files back! That includes my Windows Vista help files AND MS-Office files. Those Friggin MS-Support Agents ONLY CARE ABOUT SELLING YOU MORE STUFF!!

I'm good now, and I hope my experience / comments help somebody else. It's all good! ;)

XBOX 360 Console scratching games

We've had our XBOX 360 for less than a week. It has already scratched and ruined 2 of our new games. It was not being moved at the time and our controllers are wireless. The Tv is small and does not have large speakers that vibrate. It IS the system not consumer error that is scratching games. I didn't know anything about problems other people were having until I went online to get the microsoft corp information. All of a sudden I find countless complaints from others about their systmes shutting off while playing or scratching the CDs while playing. Microsoft Corp. customer service tries to blame you the consumer for doing something wrong to cause the problems. As I said, we had the system less than a week, read all the directions, and were just playing our games. I am sure we will not be able to return the damaged games, although we will try. We are returning the XBOX and all the games that are not damaged immediately!

Charged for Support I Didn't Receive

Microsoft is charging me for support they didn't provide. My request to Microsoft was for information on performing a repair of my operating system. The MS technician I spoke to referred me to the vendor that sold me the pre-installed system. The vendor was not able to sell me the software and I had to do a complete reinstall. Microsoft did not solve my problem, gave me misinformation, sent me on a wild goose chase, and has now charged my credit card. I sent an email to the MS Support Manager link but have not had a reply.

Do a charge-back on your credit card. Insist that Microsoft charged for services not rendered. You must be an ***.
