After purchasing an xbox 360 in 2004, I've had to send it in a total of 5 times. Most recently out of the 5x I've had to send it in 4 times in the past 6 months. I just got it back for the 5th time, and it didn't have a faceplate on it, when I had sent it in with the mfgr faceplate. So I called yet again to 18004myxbox, spoke to another idiot supervisor, that wouldn't let me speak, kept cutting me off, AND to top it off was saying that I sent it in without the faceplate. Calling me a liar. After all I had been through why would I do such a thing. And after I have to send it in, I request a replacement Elite instead, due to the inconvenience.
I paid $420 on a core system, only for it to turn out to be a piece of crap. I hate microsoft and the time money and energy they've stolen from me.

The sad part is that they know their product is crap. They've recently extended the warranty on the "red ring of death" to 3 years from the manufacture date to compensate. Everyone I know (including myself) has experienced this. I'm thankful that they did extend the warranty as it saved me from having to pay out of pocket, but why didn't they just push back the release date to make sure all the bugs were ironed out? I'm sure it would have saved them a ton of money and manpower. I guess that when you're as rich as bill gates it doesn't matter if your company has to eat millions and millions of dollars.

Same This has happended here. I bought an Xbox 360 in 2004 and we are on our 4th time sending it in. They offer us stupid tokens to make us happy like 1 month free LIVE or a wireless controler but it's just getting old !! It just went out AGAIN 2 days ago and we are now having to wait another 2-3 weeks till we can play again. Stupid
