Verified ReviewerNew meaning to the word "stupid'
I truly don't know what to do. Microsoft has been sending me email after email, all complaining that a charge did not go through on the card on file and for me to make a payment -- but did they think even once that adding a new card might help?
Never mind; I did that. I added TWO CARDS -- but they have vanished from the account! They are still using the card that was deactivated because of an unauthorized transaction on January 17, 2024 and I have sent to them a PDF of the email that my bank sent to me confirming that the card in question was deactivated on that date. But does MIcrosoft pay attention to that?
Why should they? They apparently get their kicks by harassing the one customer whose card is no longer valid and EVERY LAST EMAIL THAT THEY SEND MENTIONS THAT CARD BY ITS LAST FOUR DIGITS!!! I have enough documentation to sink a ship to explain that to them, but if they don't know how to read, that won't help. I have been in chats with them and the agents all make up stories that are proven to be lies when I continue to get the email notices of failed payments from the same card!!!
What am I supposed to do?
What is their problem other than no functioning brains? I truly cannot believe that a company as well established as Microsoft is so sloppy about the way they "manage" their website and their accounts. I have written so many complaints against them that apparently nobody can get through to them. I feel I'm just wasting time and energy trying to get through to them because they have made sure that there will be no way that I can ever make contact with a human being who can and will correct the problem which is not a difficult one to resolve, but apparently, they enjoy harassing me with one email after the next that just proves their inefficiency!
I wish I was making all this up.
Unfortunately, I'm telling the truth 1000% and still nothing is getting done. I have no idea what to do that I haven't already done. I even sent a huge envelope with documents explaining the problem to their office in Redmond, Washington via certified mail, but if they can't read -- and they probably can't -- that won't change things. This goes beyond being idiotic.
I can do no more than I have already done.
I have been through quite a few challenges in my lifetime on both sides of the Atlantic, but none have come close to being as utterly devoid of minimum intelligence as this one. I truly don't know what to say or do now.
Nothing works, nothing at all. It's not like me to give up, but I'm feeling that's my only option now because making Herculean efforts to get through to them is not working at all.
Preferred solution: I'm wondering if litigation is my only option. Nothing else is working. If I have to litigate, I will not be demanding small amounts after all the misery and suffering that I have already endured.
User's recommendation: Do everything you can to avoid any contact with Microsoft. If you work in hi-tech, you may end up taking drugs or developing a drinking habit to try to live down what Microsoft does to you.

Verified ReviewerThe Customer Service reps at Microsoft give new meaning to the word "stupidity"!!!
I have received countless emails about a payment for Microsoft 365 made through a debit card that had to be deactivated because of an unauthorized charge made through it. I received a replacement card shortly thereafter and programmed it into my Microsoft account, and it is registered there, if I can believe anything I see in their website.
However, the email notices keep coming in about a failed attempt to charge a deactivated card. I have done everything possible to reach someone in Customer Service, and I have received any number of false response. Some say the deactivated card is not in the account, which doesn't explain why Microsoft keeps charging it unless they are mentally bankrupt -- which is the conclusion I reached long ago. There's one part of their website that only lists the deactivated card and does not permit me to delete it and enter the active card.
Chat with Customer Support is worthless because the same idiotic email notices about how a charge through the deactivated card failed. Well, well, well! Do I hear them saying "duh" as their theme song?!?!?!? I have prepared a huge envelope that I intend to send via certified mail that should explain it all, but I seriously doubt if the people who work there have the intelligence to be able to see facts in print and respond accordingly.
It is not as if I'm being impatient. Microsoft makes sure that if I do reach a human being, that person will give me information that would make these email notices end, but even today, February 27, 2024, after my many attempts to correct the situation, those notices are still coming in. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in which I attached the whole history of documents that describe the problem in detail; I would send it to Microsoft if they would only make themselves accessible, but any company that uses only noreply emails or email accounts that are not monitored is obviously hiding from their customers, and they provide no alternative method for making contact. The chat applet is worthless; I gave it a fair chance, but I saw that even an assurance that everything is all right there,is no true indication that the problem has been solved.
Sending the huge envelope via certified mail may be my only hope left, but how can I be sure that the people who open it know how to read?
And if they can, can they see that they are working with a card that was reported as deactivated several times over? If I could find a way to continue without using anything that Microsoft creates, I would gladly do it, but our do-nothing government allows monopolies such as Microsoft to thrive and bloom and do nothing to protect the consumer public!
- Creator of a large number of software products
- Totally incompetent customer service
Preferred solution: Delete the deactivated card ending in 4905 Notify me if the active card ending in 5061 does not appear Enter the correct card if it is not in my account already
User's recommendation: Hard to recommend anything because Microsoft controls so many things for people who work online.
Resolved: I can't get into my account nor my authenticator

After numerous attempts...they just started rejecting my replies... this was for minecoins for Minecraft...I'm out $20 because of my grandsons excitement to play the lousy game...and they obviously don't care
